I have a question, do the interior lights that are 12 volt run off of the battery when you are not hooked up to a 30 amp RV service or extention cord from your home ?

That's correct. My '79 doesn't have a formal power converter to convert the 30 amp shore power to 12v, so yours may not either. All newer/larger Sunlines have this feature though. Things in the trailer that are AC only, such as the air conditioner, a microwave if you have a portable one, and any associated lights won't work at all on 12v.
If your interior lights have both 12v and 120v switches/bulbs, then yours is probably the same setup as mine. Mine had a small converter unit added to run 12v stuff off shore power, but I don't think that was installed at the factory.
