A message about Kitty!

It is with great sadness in my heart, and tears in my eyes that I write this thread.

Our dear friend Kitty is now resting in our Lord’s hands. Kitty passed this morning, after a long battle with cancer. Gary her dear husband and Tom her loving son were by her side. Kitty had once told a member here that when she went, she wanted to be in her Sunny…that was not possible, but the next best thing was, she was placed in her special embroidered Sunline blanket and she passed within 15-20 minutes of doing so. Hospice had been in early and made her as comfortable as could be during the last few hours of her life. They are a group of wonderful people!

Kitty being the strong willed, independent, women she was, never gave up, she always had a positive attitude and never questioned "Why me, " "Why am I being stricken with cancer"?

Kitty's wish was for no funeral services, as she did not want “anyone crying over me”. She wanted to be cremated, which Gary has assured me will happen!

Kitty, as most of us know, was a Greyhound dog lover and a member of Greyhound Rescuer Group her wishes are/were for donations in her memory be made to her favorite charity:

Greyhound Rescue, Inc.
862Cressen Drive
Gerrardstown, WV 25420-3359
www.greyrescue.com
in memory of Bonnie (Kitty) Young-Jenkins

Cards of sympathy can be sent to:

The Young-Jenkins Families
272 Young’s Lane
Gerrardstown, WV 25420
304-229-2564

Gary will need our support during this time! Our Sunline Family is a very close group and I’m sure a call or email to him, will help him through this sorrowful time.

As I told him not too long ago, Kitty stole his heart in a BIG way, and she will always be part of him! However it was not just his heart that was stolen it was/is the hearts of everyone who knew her!

Kitty, may the Lord be by your side and backing you in, as you find that perfect spot to park that Sunny in the campground of heaven!

Your suffering is ended, may you rest in peace and God bless you, your family and friends!

Peace be with you!

Thank you Lord for the special campsite you prepared for Kitty. Thanks, too, for sharing her with all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Gary. May Our Lord comfort you and give you peace in this time.

Blessings on you!

Thanks for posting - it's a sad day for the community and I know we will all miss Kitty. For Kitty however, suffering has finally passed and so we can take some solace there.

Dear Gary,

Sometimes things are easier to bear when you know friends care. Kitty touched so many lives.

Wishing you God's peace.

Unhappy A Sad Day

We all know that Kitty is in a better place now but for those she left behind it is a sad day for all of us who knew and loved her. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you Gary and your family during this difficult time. Just remember how much joy and love you brought into Kitty life. She told me several times she couldn't have made it as far as she did without you. The love and support you gave her she said was amazing and she didn't know how one man could give so much of himself. We are glad that her last camping trip in her Sunline was a special time for her and all the Sunline friends who got to see her at the last M&G in October. She may be gone but her spirit will live on through all of us who knew and loved her.

Gary we hope you know that you are part of the Sunline Family and we are here if you need us.

Miss Kitty

I met Miss Kitty on an RV forum several years ago. I was searching for greyhound rescue information. We kept in sporadic touch over the years. I remember when she told me about meeting Gary and how happy she was about that. I knew she was ill with cancer. When she told me about her cancer, I told her that I had beaten my cancer years ago and that she could beat hers too. I told her to get mad at it like I did and maybe that would help. I can't remember the last time I heard from Miss Kitty. It's been awhile. When I hadn't heard from her for some time I kinda knew I think. I didn't want to write only to find out something I didn't really want to know.

We gotta find a cure for that hideous disease. Miss Kitty, RIP darlin. I'm looking forward to meeting you in Heaven.

Gary I'm betting you have folks fighting each other to help ya. Let'em.

To Papa & Nana: Thanks for the post.

Happy camping!!! See ya down the road Miss Kitty!!!

Kitty was a very special person and Marshall and I will forever be grateful that we knew her. Before we ever met in person, she was always on the SOC forum with wonderful advice and encouragement to everyone. She is at peace now and no longer suffering.

Gary, you too are a very special person and we are sending prayers that your grief is tempered by the great love Kitty and you had together.

Gary and family, Rich and I are saddened to read of Kitty's passing, but know in our hearts that her ordeal and suffering is over and that she is now in a better place with no more pain. The Sunline get togethers won't be the same without her presence, but we know that her spirit will always be there with us. We are so glad that she was able to be with us in October. I know that meant a lot to her. You are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this sad time. Barb and Rich

I'm not a wordsmith. I can't find the words that I want to say. Kitty was a very special person I'd come to know and love over the last several years. I'm so glad that I got a chance to meet her. She was taken from us too soon, but I'm sure we will meet again some day in Heaven.
Gary, just remember we are here for you. Call me anytime if you need anything, or just want to talk. I will try my best to help you in any way I can. Be strong my friend....

Today is a sad day. We feel blessed to have known Kitty, and so fortunate to have spent time with her at Shenandoah River. She loved her Sunline family and we loved her. We'll be missing you Kitty, but know you're in a better place. Our prayers are with you Gary. You made our Kitty a very happy lady

I've struggled with what to say here, but I think I'm better off just sharing two of my favorite memories of her:

Truely a sad day and words don't seem to be enough. The life of Kitty reminded of this quote from Dr. Seuss,

“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”
