Wire con installation tool

Newbie here. We took the self contained outlet in our 1994 Sunline trailer apart thinking we would replace it. Now we find out there is a special tool to install this type of outlet and it costs major $$. Anyone have experience with these outlets as we are kind of stuck now. Is there a place to buy used tool? Is it ok to try and just jam the wires in with a flathead?
Thanks in advance.

The special tool makes it easier if you are going to do alot of them. I have replaced these in my house and camper using a flat blade screwdriver. You have to do each wire individually, were as the tool will press them all in at once after you have them lined up.

It can be done with a screwdriver, though not all that easily. I don't care for that style at all. I'd see if I could replace it with a shallow Old Work box, available at most box stores.

The biggest issue would be the wire length they do not leave a lot of excess wire with the stab in outlets. You may be able to use a standard outlet with rear feed in type. it's going to be close. Good luck!
