Limited access for freshman?

As a freshman to the club, I tried to upload profile picture but failed. Is there limit for new comers to the site or need to wait for approval from site admin/owner? Thank you.

Eric

Hi Eric,

Gosh it's been so long, I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think so.

However, I want to make sure if I hear you right. A profile picture on here is not like a Facebook profile picture. Here, your profile picture just shows up when people click to view your profile (which I don't see one showing on yours now). If you want the little ones on the left of your posts by the post count/location info, you upload that under the avatar area in the User CP.

The only suggestion I have is the picture itself is too big. I thought it gave a failure message, but it may not. You will need to resize your picture in order to use it because the site isn't set up to resize the pictures automatically. I don't know the size the profile pictures need to be, but I'm guessing somewhere less than 400, maybe even 320 pixels wide. You could try something like 800 and just see if it goes, since I'm not quite sure on the sizes.

The avatar images can be no more than 120 pixels in either direction.

For resizing, I really like the Microsoft Office Picture Manager (sometimes just called Microsoft Office 2010 on that version) if you already have the office suite. It seems to come with those automatically. Go to Picture, Resize, and then reduce it by percentage until you see the pixels reach your desired size.
