Traffic Camera

If you have already seen this on RV.net I apologize, I stole it from there.
=========

I was driving when I saw the flash of a traffic camera.

I figured that my picture had been taken for exceeding the limit even though I knew that I was not speeding. Just to be sure, I went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed.

Now I began to think that this was quite funny, so I drove even slower as I passed the area once more, but the traffic camera again flashed.

I tried a fourth and fifth time with the same results and was now laughing as the camera flashed while I rolled past at a snail's pace.

Two weeks later, I got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat belt.

Message for everybody
There are ways around that.. ... I am a seatbelt person.. i always wear one... I just dont like the idea that i have to be told that i have to wear it.... I know that it's supposed to be a safety issue... I think that is the idea that they are trying to pitch. I believe it's more of a revenue thing...

Next time you are going to drive infront of a camera more than once..put the belt on...

There was a blurb on TV news last night about how much we all are caught on video cameras. Every corner of WallyWerld has cameras. Banks, intersections and many businesses. Only the government cameras may cost you money but they all can get you in trouble if your in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I enjoy a BBC show named Top Gear. One of the guys on the show was driving a high powered car and driving fast and when he saw the speedtrap cameras he has a life sized picture of someone else mounted on a old church fan style mounting that he held up for the camera.

There is a cover for your car tag that is polarized, and illegal in many places. The traffic cameras are mounted high and the polarization is set to block them but a cop following behind you, at street level, can see the tag just fine.

I drive the speed limit and obey all traffic control media. I don't need no stinkin cover for my tag.

They have studies that prove the traffic cams cause as many, if not more, accidents than they are to stop. Seems people will tailgate and have accidents with rear end crashes. Could it be the guy behind you is watching that damned camera instead of your brake lights? Nah!

We have red light cameras on three major intersections of one of the main north/south roads in our county, they have decreased the "crossing" type accidents, but with a rather significant increase in "rear-enders". Seems people are slamming the brakes as soon as the Yellow comes on instead of taking it for the warning it is intended to be.

I just had the experience of finding out that the registration on one of my vehicles was suspended due to a Vehicle Emissions Test Violation. Seems I moved last year when the test was due, the change of address and the test/violation notices passed each other in the MVA, and the Post Office does NOT forward MVA mail. Worse part:$14 test fee, and $14 per every 30 days there after fine (test was due last MAY). Fortunately, my arguements about the stupidity of not forwarding mail were heard and only had to pay the test fee. Best part: Police Officer was able to see the change of address/mail conflict in the DMV records and didn't cite me for driving suspended vehicle or pull my tags. Thank god for in-car computers!!!
