My truck is a long bed with the ball pretty far...

My truck is a long bed with the ball pretty far forward for pulling large flatbed trailers. If it was a shortbed it would probably be ok as is.

Yes it is the gooseneck style. I guess it is 18.5 ft long but have not measured it. He pulled it with a little Nissan truck. I am going to have to extend the hitch to pull it with my full size truck....
