Thanks.But what I really needed to know was whether I really need the battery. No problem obtaining one and hooking it up, but if it's not necessary for mine to operate properly, I won't buy one.

I have a '83 T2101. If I understand some of the other posts correctly, just plugging into a 110 supply, the 12v system will not work correctly without a battery hooked up.I plan on putting my camper...
