My roof is Aluminum. Heat gun is a good idea...

My roof is Aluminum.

Heat gun is a good idea for the old sealant! Not sure if it will help on the silicone...I'm afraid I will have a few choice words as I try to remove that stuff.

Roof repair over silicone?

I want to reseal the seams on my roof. They are cracking. There was a fairly recent repair done to a couple 12" seams done by the previous owner and he used silicone. Can I go right over the top...
