I pull all of the batteries, 2 from the trailer,...

I pull all of the batteries, 2 from the trailer, one from the boat and one from the garden tractor. They spend the winter in the basement and get trickle charged every once in a while.

Keep in mind the principle that water freezing in a closed space will expand and probably break something. If there is sufficient air space to accommodate the expansion, the freezing will not break...
