Never had the bikes move yet. Only downside was one time I had a splitting headache and left the motrin in the medicin cab at the back...

Yes, I do this. I put the bikes in 2 at a time and side by side. I then lash them together with a cargo strap so that the wheels are as far apart as possible. Lashed together they do not move an inch...
