I had the same (negative) experience trying to clean the vinyl door & garage trim. When I removed it found it to be a bit wider than 3/4 so I used 1 inch as a replacement & it fit just fine

Right you are !!! Replacement was the way to go.
But it's not the corner vinyl trim that I couldn't get clean. That seems to be a different type vinyl & cleans fairly easily

As recommended in another thread I used acetone to clean the exterior vinyl trim around our windows & it did a decent job. However, it barely touched the mold/staining on the 5/8 inch trim that...
