In conclusion

I ordered and replaced the thermal overload and the two thermostats. All is working now, as it should.

no hot water again-help

I started this thread over a month ago but the problem resolved itself presumably by my wiggling the wires on the water heater. This morning, we found ourselves with no hot water, either elec or gas....

Agreed, propane is faster but when in a campground and paying for hookups, elec is the way to go I think. I was very surprised to learn you can run both simultaneously for quick recovery if needed....
