OPTIMA batteries?

Has anyone tried Optima (spiral) batteries from Costco? If so, are you recommending the blue-top or the yellow top? I've read that these are great batteries, but Costco also sells a huge regular deep-cycle for 1/2 the price? Any ideas will be appreciated as I'm new to boon-docking in my 2499. Thanks!

Hi Steve,

We upgraded one of the batteries in the toy hauler this past spring when the old one fried itself on the trickle charger over the winter. So far so good. Ours is the blue top, but we didn't put a whole lot of thought into it...we just needed a battery. I'm not even sure what the difference is. We've also got a red top automotive battery that's performed great as well.

Jon

I swap everything we own over to the Red Tops, unless its a wheeling rig, they get the yellow top. Either when I find a great deal on them or when a new battery is needed.

Hands down I wouldn't trade them for any other battery. I have been debating the blue tops for the Que, but for now the battery is doing its job so why spend the money now.

FYI, Our off-road toys are Jeeps, and we pull a fair amount of winch line some trips.
