Gettysburg (Ortanna), PA. Hickory Bridge Farm

Excellent country Bed and Breakfast that also offers a dinner service. Staying at the B&B is not required to attend a dinner, but reservations are required. It is located about 10 miles west of Gettysburg on Hickory Bridge Rd. http://www.hickorybridgefarm.com/

We wanted to see what all the hype was about Hickory Bridge Farm in Gettysburg. We see all the signs along RT30 and 15 plus online. So We made reservations. The place is very pretty and well kept. We had high hopes at that point. The salad was great... the spiced peaches was also tasty...but the rest of the meal was downright bad. It was oven roasted chicken night. No lie when we got our leg and a thigh ( for the two of us) it was undercooked. The "roasted" potato was a half of a potato that was boiled then put in the oven to harden up. Carrots was straight from a can without seasoning. The other side dish was one piece of brocolli with cheeze wizz on it. We were sad to paid over $54 for something I would not feed to any guest nor stranger.
Maybe we just caught the place on a real bad night...but we won't be going back. We will go to the Dobbins House, Farnsworth House, or the Fairfield Inn for fine dinning. I really think McDonalds had Hickory Bridge Farm beat.

Wow, sorry you had a bad experience there. I've never had a bad meal there, so maybe it was a really bad night for some reason. They have a stellar reputation, not sure what happened. Best Crab Imperial I've ever had.
