Twin Lakes State Park, VA

Didn't take many pictures this time around but the state parks have some really nice scenery. One of these days I'll get around to learning how to kayak.

Nice looking State Park. I see the trees have not even started to turn by the looks of it. The weather is so all over up the place up here right now, we are still in the high heat dog days of August here lately.

Thanks for sharing.

Kayaking, yes a lot of fun & easier to learn. I'm still drawn to my canoe though. I start doing canoe strokes in the kayak by second nature and the J stokes just doesn't cut it...

Did you camp here? How did the camper work out? The bed get any better?

Thanks

John

I camped there the last weekend in September which I guess really wasn't that long ago. The leaves have just started falling here right after that trip. The camper worked out okay except for the front window issue. I used an air mattress this time around and slept better. I need a bigger one now that I know that setup will work for me. I think I found one that will fit in that spot. It got average reviews but so far the only one that will fit and I can pack it away and still access the storage and water heater. Now just gotta figured out the best usage of storage. Feeling a bit cramped. I was hell bent on having a bathroom. I hate the wet bath! Too small. I can barely move around and I am not big at all. Just need some time to get used to everything. But it does feel great to be out camping!

I even have some family that is interested in going camping with me on my next trip.

Glad the campout went well short of the window leak. And glad the sleeping is better. That is a big issue if you can't sleep right.

The best use of storage... I think history will repeat itself...again... Where ever you put things in the camper, odds are high you will just about move it all around 3 times before finding that "right spot".

This seems to happen at the time of getting a different camper for most all of us... It's just one of those things that will be... regardless of how many years you have been camping. So make your mark in history and rearrange 3 times!

Nice to hear you may have some family coming along. That can be really nice.

Happy camping

John
