Info on Camp Sites
Hello everyone, me and my family just purchased a 2004 Sunline Solaris T-264sr. (Check out album). We are all new to the whole travel trailer operation. Familar with grey/black/ fresh water tanks and such. We would like to do a test run with it to see how we like it. 3 hours away from NJ to Springfield, MA. And if we like it which im sure we will, we want to go out west. The plan for next June when it gets warmer outside is to go to MA. Me and my friends want to go up to Six Flags New England. Do campgrounds offer trailer parking to disconnect the tow vehicle to leave for the day?

If you pay for a site, you can come and go as you please with the tow vehicle.

Please post lots of pics!

I have been looking around on the internet and have found some campgrounds. All for families with little chidlren. Arts and craft and such. Are there simple campfrounds without all these child oriented activities?

State parks, they usually let the campers provide the entertainment.

There's a bunch of them in this area. Just do a google search for campgrounds in Southwick Ma., Granby Ct, Tolland Ct,etc.

When traveling, Overnight free parking can be had at Cracker Barrel, Wal-Mart , Target and other parking lots. Just ask. We used a truck stop on last trip, boy was it noisy. Cracker Barrel was real accommodating and usually found at freeway exits. Some truck stops also have Dump stations.

One of the best things you can do, is go camping! Most RV'ers will be more than glad to answer any questions you have. Experience is one of the best teachers there is. And believe me, if you do something that isn't allowed, they will make sure you know about it.
Another good idea, is to browse the forums. Everyone was a newbie at one time, or another. Everybody posts questions and get some great answers to those questions. There are always the "Grumps" too, so be aware of that. They are forum trolls that seem to exist, only to cause problems. Most forums seem to have them. Some, more than others. I won't name any forum names though...

Gary,
I'll have you know that "I'm not a Grump" or did you mean to say "Gramps", in which case you are right!.......grrrrr!
desertsun,
Get your best price and I will let you stay at my work parking lot, In beautiful Barkhamsted, Ct. for half the price. Also there are two campgrounds within just a couple of miles of here. One private and one state.
Gary is right though that this is a very pleasant helpful forum and some of us have a sense of humor. Enjoy. Thanks for sharing the pictures. We like pictures!
Lynn
