Adirondak full hook-up park recommendations

Am I the only one who asks questions on this thread? !!

After Nick's Lake in Sept., Tom and I want to stop one night at a full service park to clean & dump the tanks really well before winter storage.

Looking for a nice place an hr. or so East from Nick's Lake - Adirondaks toward Lake George area. Ideas appreciated.

Deb and Tom

brookwood rv resort, its on the northern end of route 9n, near hague, and its cheap, like 35 a night, i camp seasonal there...there are some sites near the road, but if you ask, they will also let you stay off the road and into the vacant seasonal sites, very nice, very clean, very quiet park.

Thanks! This looks good, and basically on the way home.

What is "free pump out service" ? All we need is a sewer hookup of our own.

we have septics on our sites, with our own hook ups, so you should be all set....im almost 100% sure its on every site...its a very nice quiet place to relax, would make a perfect end to the season. it isnt like all the noisy state campgrounds, kind of has a "country club" feeling.

i would encourage you to take a walk or drive down the side road next to the campground, and take in the beauty of the mountainside farm etc, its really gorgeous, also take a ride down to historic hague and check out the beach, general store, and if you head toward ti theres nice places to eat, walmart, gas etc within 10 minutes of brookwood, but the campground is just far enough out to really be in the country. there is also everything you could ever need for camping right there on site in the brookwood general store, food, ice, firewood, camp supplies, you name it...most of the prices are reasonable too.

OK, this sounds ideal. SO ideal we might go up in July for a weekend if we can find a petsitter for home. I called and the T-10, T-11, etc. sites are available. Do you have a recommendation for a site on that loop? (I find if we do not have a site in mind we end up in a not-so-wonderful location. Learning here!)

the t 10 and t 11 look to be the sites near route 9n.... you didnt hear this from me but ask her if any of the vacant seasonal sites are available for a weekend or two, once you get back off that main entrance loop it quickly becomes wooded and quiet, the t 10 t 11 area are fairly near 9n (road noise) and are right on the main entrance.....they are not bad, very easy to pull in and out, but i would rather be away from the road, what about even s1, s2, s3 or s4? i believe seasonal site 7 is open as well, dont quote me, if you ask, she will tell, but you didnt hear it from me! lol....

I won't say you told me, but I will ask. After the every 8 minute freight trains at Buttonwood and the Thunder Alley cars on Sat. night there, I doubt 9n will be a problem!! (We loved Buttonwood, don't get me wrong, but have not ever heard trains day and night out here in the sticks !!) Nice that pets are allowed. Cat and four guinea pigs here so we leave 'em at home LOL

lol, yeah, I forgot to warn you about that. I'm sure it's a lot worse on the river side too! Of the few pics I saw of there, it looks like they thinned it out A LOT from a couple years ago, so that must have just made it louder!

Granted they are of Sunlines, but they were both parked on the river side as seasonals during the 2008 Buttonwood M&G:

Jon, yes, it seems to have been thinned out. Must admit we did enjoy it there, despite the noise. I am not sure if we'll be able to make that long trip again, but we'd be happy on the river again. We walked up to the main group and chatted around and got in some social time. We had young goslings visit us on the river ! In the pic of the three Sunlines, Larry (minus Wendy who was working, was on the left, then us in the middle and Katie and Bo on the right). We enjoyed their company and it was fun to have our little group on the river.

I did see at least one seasonal Sunline on the river side. I was curious if those folks ever joined in on the Sunline activities?

And of course I meant the picture someone posted of this year's Buttonwood and the River Sunlines... not the above pictures!

Ok I called and asked for something "quiet" and got site 78, a seasonal site. Unless it is taken by a seasonal user, which they said is doubtful. It is way back so should be quiet. I do wonder about access as it is not on a loop. Tom is great about backing up, but it does seem tight. But I know maps of campgrounds are very deceiving !! Could you check it out for me please? or perhaps you already know that area. It is only for two nights so even if it is not an ideal site it is OK!

thats the new section of the park, its deep into the woods, you wont hear a thing back there! very nice area/site, somewhat tight road getting down to it, take your time you will be fine, you guys will enjoy that once your in....there are plenty of other campers back there, but it is desolate. i was torn between this site and site 14 which im on seasonally when i was looking, only reason i went with 14 is the large flat grassy yard on the dead end loop for my son to play on. what weekend will you be up? im up a lot in july.
