Sunspot Photos
A few photos of the 79 Sunspot. Just a few more things to do and it will be ready to use. Does anyone know how the spare tire was mounted when it was new? There is a "bracket" behind the LP tank that looks like it is made to hold the spare tire. If this is the spare tire mount, there must have been some hardware used to secure the tire somehow. Thank You.
Deano......

Nice little Sun Sopt!! and the decals are still intact....
The tongue weight is light enough to use one of those little hand tow dollies. Amazing.
Thanks for sharing.

JohnB,
Thank You. Tongue weight in the spec sheet says 95 lbs but I think it may be a bit lighter. I move it in and out the garage with no problem. Only had the unit a couple of months but it has turned out to be a joy to work on. We put in new tile on the floor and I had to fix both fenders as they were broke on the tab area. Also just installed a new sink faucet. I'm getting a new awning made now for it also. We're really looking forward to next spring so we can use it. We live in Michigan so camping season here is pretty much over. This Sunspot was stored inside for 20 years. I purchased it from a fellow who owned it for 7 years and only used it one time. I'll post more photos later.
Have a fine day!
Deano......

Nice! looking good! Looking forward to more pictures.
I also use a hand dolly. I have to have my son help me move into the spot I like to keep unit at. It is up hill from where I unhitch from TV. This is on a '83 T-1550. I need to measure tongue weight with 2 full 20 # LP tanks. I believe spec. is 165 #'s tongue.

Looking good, Deano! Not sure about a spare tire, can't say I've ever seen one with a spare. If it were somewhere, I'd say either mounted on the side of the tongue or underneath somehow maybe just behind the LP tank.

Thanks Sunline Fan, yep, I think you are correct...looks like the spare tire may lay on that bracket just behind the LP tank. I'll give it a go. Had to take out the new faucet and return it for another. I pumped it 3 times while winterizing the holding water tank water line and it broke internally. Oh well, no big deal. Thanks again, Deano......

Hmm. At least they aren't hard to find replacements for!
