Oh where are the sunspots

Having been looking to purchase a sunspot in my area [ western Canada ] for a couple of years I have given up and now am in the preparation of building a clone . Much of it will be from recycled parts as the size, appearance , shape , and square windows and doors are the sunspot of which I want . I believe weight reduction and some modern convenience can be had while keeping with in the original design and weight allowing for fuel efficient tow vehicles do the towing . Input of ideas to achieve this are very welcome .

Hi Sandy,

Building a clone of a Sunspot shouldn't be hard. The Sunspot design is nothing new, it's just a slightly boxier version of a teardrop camper. You can probably find plans for building one online.

Sunline only built about 100 Sunspots, so yes, finding one is very tough. On top of that, Sunline was an eastern company, very few Sunlines made it west and even fewer made it to Canada. I know of one that was in Ontario, years ago.

Not that I'm aware of, but I haven't been searching lately either.

That's funny I am a ham radio guy and right now we are all wondering where the sunspots are too! We rely on sunspots for good radio propagation!
