Florida

We are parked at the SKP Resort in Wauchula, FL, an Escapee Coop Park. Wauchula is truly rural Florida, an area of cattle ranches, orange groves and phosphate mining.

The SKP Resort borders an Orange grove, the orange trees are blossoming and smell delicious. I really don't know how to describe the smell, but heaven could not smell any better.

RVers always talk about places not to miss, Orange blossom time where ever is a place not to miss.

It's truly a wonder to wake in the middle of the night bathed in orange blossom.

Sounds heavenly. I guess it was chilling down a little too much in NH I took a peek at the campground on the website slideshow and it looks lovely. Only SKP owners can stay there, and members can rent from the rental pool...correct? We're still into the leaf season up here in PA, but as soon as they're all down I'm going to be jealous. Did you finish the new trailer? Enjoy!

We spent this past summer staying at almost every State Park in Fla
Stephen Foster is the cleanest biggest sites we ever saw. If your crusin and can get reservations in Fla State parks campgrounds they will be worth the adventure. But I bet they are hard to get into durning the winter,

You DO have to be persistent with the reservations in FL in the winter. While they have many state parks......much competition. However, the parks system is excellent. All parks I have seen are in good repair. Nice, helpful rangers. ALWAYS a great time. good value..$20-$30 p/night.

Greetings all, if you have recently tried to book a campsite for any of the Florida state parks, then you know it is pretty slim pickens'.
HOWEVER, I have noticed on my many hours spent on Reserve America that if I check now for an opening at say...Anastasia SP in St Augustine for this weekend or any other for the next 6 weeks or so, it would be totally booked. I also noticed (because I tried it) that if I look say...Thursday night for a this Friday weekend reservation on the same thing, I may have some luck. I guess due to last minute cancellation.
Try it. If you are ready and in striking distance to the Fl SP of your choice, you may be able to take advantage of a last minute cancellation.....good Luck
