Golden Hill State Park
9691 Lower Lake Rd.
Barker, NY 14012

We have stayed at this park twice now this year. Both times have been on B loop which is called a prime waterfront site. This places you within 100 feet of the shoreline. You are on top of a bluff overlooking Lake Ontario and is thirty miles east of the Niagara River. A lighthouse is on the property with tours available . There is always a breeze blowing keeping you cool. Very family oriented park. Enjoyed it so much that we will try to book our group of firefighters in for a long weekend in the future. Rt. 18 on the way in was excellent for travel with very few stops. You can see photos of our previous trip in the Community Forum. Sites were almost level, being gravel and grass. We had 50 amp service and water. Power level was very good considering it was 85-90 and everyone was running AC. A good spot to watch boats and ships go by. Even watched a thunderstorm over the lake at night.

Golden Hill is located in Western NY, about 40 miles east of Niagara Falls. Information phone is 716-795-3885.
Reservations are through www.reserveamerica.com

56 sites total with 20 having 30 amp service and 12 having 50 amp. Water on electric sites only. Waterfront sites available with and without utilities. Lighthouse on shoreline is for rent on a weekly basis only.

Each site has picnic table and fire ring. AT&T cell service was full strength. No cable or WiFi. Lighthouse with a historic background on grounds. Tours available for $2.00 a face.

Small gift shop at Park office. Convienence store with fuel @ 1 mile. Closest large community is @ 15 miles away. You pass a lot of fruit and vegatable stands on the way for fresh picked produce.

Bathrooms and showers were small but very clean. Dump station on site.

For the family, there is a playground, baseball, biking, fishing, hiking, volleyball. Boat ramp less than a mile away.

Generally quiet park with occasional park patrol going through. Pets are welcome with proper papers.
