We stayed there Sept. 2006 for part of our honeymoon. Friendly service, beautiful scenery, gorgeous sunsets. Bathrooms were spotless. The site was level and clean with the acception of someones pet 'exhaust" left on the site. Quiet and peaceful. Went after Labor Day, not even 1/3 full. Highly recommend for someone looking for relaxation. Plenty to do at the resort during normal season. Alot to do daytripping. Plenty of restaurants within a 1/2 hour drive. Fishing is excellant. There off the dock or with a guide. Great bass, world class trout and salmon.

Kid and people friendly. Cell phone OK with Cingular and Verizon.
Being fairly new, constant improvments being made . Growth potential is very good. Used to be a getaway resort for a large corporation and a training facility when the Olympics were in Canada back in the seventies.

We will be returning this Sept. as a stepping off point for the Thousand Islands.

Highly recommend. I would rate this resort 4 3/4 stars out of 5. The only negative thing was a small area that smelled of dead fish on the way in, and of course the dog exhaust that I found with my coach tire.

If you love being by water, this is your Eden.

2007 Update

We just got back from our second visit at AIR. Still a real nice campground but a problem has developed that is not at any fault of the resort. It seems, in typical government fashion, that the State of NY decided to lower the water depth in anticipation of the heavy rains happening in the midwest. The water level has dropped by two feet and has exposed a lot of algae growth. The wonderful little insects that lay their eggs in this growth are having huge orgy, creating an over abundance of annoying gnat like creatures. So much that you could not even have a campfire. We have a tube light on the roller of our awning. It was so thick of flying insects, you could not see the area around the light.

We were on the east end of the island. Having spoke with a woman who was staying on the west end, she said that she had very few of the pesky critters. I guess that next year when we return, I'm going for the west side.

As I said before, this is at no fault of the resort owners. This is mother nature taking advantage of man's mistake. I still like the resort and will be returning next year. But for anyone going up this year, stay on the west end.
