Personal Comments:
This campground backs up to Rt. 250 which is very traifficy and loud. There was alot of light at night coming from somewhere. Mixed in with the sites are a number of rental trailers that seem to house workers during the week, but be empty on the weekend. It was odd. We much prefer the Charlottesville KOA, but it was closed for the season.

We stayed here during december 2008 because it was the only thing open in the area. WOW WHAT A CHANGE!!! They hired new management who have made tremendous improvements. All of the temporary housing trailers are gone. There is nice new landscapeing. They built a beautiful huge deck overlooking a field and stream. We now prefer this campground over the KOA. Lovely nice people manageing it too.

We will be staying at this campground in July 2009 for our North Florida group's weeklong Summer Rally.

I'm glad to hear there are new owners making improvements. We have camped in this area before and have always preferred the KOA. I'm looking forward to seeing the area again. None of the rest of our group has been up here before.

I will make a report on this campground when we return. Hopefully it will show continued improvement and make this campgroound a place we can personally recommend.

Personal Comments:
We were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the lower section with our group. We were one row from the creekside sites. Staff was friendly and helpful. NOTE: You should confirm your reservations before arrival. This campground will move you to another site if they feel the need, even if you're with a group, so keep in touch. One or two semi-permanant sites in the lower section, but well kept and appeared to be employees. Only a couple of other semi permanant looking sites up the hill. Rt. 250 is fairly busy, but the noise was minimal... nothing like an Interstate. WiFi was functional but slow. Cell phone service was OK but not great. There is a new Harris Teeter grocery a couple of miles down the road... VERY NICE. Super WalMart in Waynesboro, an easy 15 minute drive west. Easy access to the BRP and Skyline Drive, less than 10 minutes away.

We would stay here again.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. You're right that the noise isn't bad from 250. The first time we stayed there (when I noted the noise) we were in the row that backs right up to 250. Our 2nd stay was in the row by the creek and we didn't notice the noise at all.
