Personal Comments:
We like the no hookup sites better than the electric/water sites. They are wooded and large, where most of the E/W sites are close together and sunny. The lake is really pretty, and they have boat rentals. This campground is only a couple minutes off of I81. We found a great place to eat in nearby Newbern, VA. It's Beavers Bar-B-Que located in the Wilderness Inn. $5 for all you can eat (+your beverage). Mr. Beaver is a retiree from Boeing who designed the electrical system for the V22 Osprey, but is now making the best bar-b-que I've ever tasted. (directions at the entrance booth of Claytor Lake)
