Shenandoah National Park

Lynn and I just got back from a 11 day trip to Big Meadows Campground, Shenandoah National Park. Once again the wildlife was outstanding. Here are some photos.

Absolutely beautiful photos!!

Hopefully, that shot of mama bear was taken with a long lens, ie not as close as it looks!!!! Mama bears tend not to be real freindly with cubs around.

Mack, I was using a 300mm lens on my Nikon D5100 so I was far enough away. We saw 13 bear on our trip and lots of fawns. Ray

Awesome! Thanks for the pics. How did you manage the electric for 11 days of dry camping? Does a generator handle recharging them well enough? The new fiver looks very nice!

Pam,
running the generator for 5 hours a day keeps my 2 -27 series batteries fully charged. Our black water tank lasted the entire 11 days. I only had to drain about 15 gallons of gray water and take it to the utility sink at the bathroom. Having a separate galley gray water tank is great. Lynn used our shower and bathroom the entire trip. I used the shower house. When we left all the tanks were full except the black at 2/3. Its nice to know you can dry camp and stay almost two weeks at a camp site without going to the dump station. We just love the extra room and storage we have. It will be great this Winter at Jekyll Island! We really like the new fiver.

Aren't big tanks a wonderful thing! Glad you're happy with the new rig.

I figured it had to be a good camera/lens combo, they are really sharp pictures and you usually don't get wildlife to cooperate if you get real close.

Great pixs - it looks and sounds like you had an excellent time at Shenandoah NP.
