Personal Comments: This is a lovely and huge state park, easily accessible from the highway. All sites are large and wooded. Our site got a little swampy in the extended rain so I wouldn't chose that one again. Most sites have a raised gravel pad, and I would suggest picking one of those. This park, with the lodge, and other amenities is very resort like. They offer: a golf course, big lake with rentals, hiking, bicycling, segway tours, playgrounds, kids activites, & I think horseback riding. Some of these require a fee. The only thing bad I have to say is that it's too far from our house to go for a weekend!

Great post!!! It is one of our favorites. You are right about a few of the lower sites in the back getting muddy. In fact sites 18,19,20,21 and 23 are known to be muddy when it rains a bunch. Site 23 is the worst by far. If you know it is going to rain 1-9 and 27-30 are the best.
We can't wait to go back!
