I'm not positive about Nuttin Campground. However, I can only picture two campgrounds along the Susquehanna River north of Liverpool and south of Sunbury/Shamokin Dam: Neither are anything to write home about. However, north of Shamokin Dam there a a few nice campgrounds.

I have stayed at Ferry Boat Campground which is the one just south of Nuttin campground. Ferry boat campground sets right along the river and is actually a very nice setting. The campground itself isn't all that much. Sunline1

You are correct. Ferry Boat is a nice campground, but I believe it is south of Liverpool. I was referring to the two campgrounds I pass frequently that are North of Liverpool.

Al I agree with you they sure don't look like much, run down campers etc. one is a passport america park, which of course doesn't mean anything I suppose.

Since you seam to know the area better than I, any campgrounds in that general area you might recomment ? Any info appreciated. Thanks

I spend a lot of time at Pioneer Campground in Sullivan County. I've passed through the area where you want to stay, but I haven't stayed at many of the campgrounds. I spent a weekend at Nittany Mtn near I-80 and Rte 15 (New Columbia, PA): That was a nice campground. Raymond B. Winter State Park (west of Lewisburg) is a very nice park. As for most the others, I have no first-hand experience.

I've been going to Pioneer on the three holiday weekends for the past 15 years. It is a very neat, family-oriented campground. Both the previous owners and the current owners have taken great pride in improving and maintaining the facilities. They have water, electric and cable at the sites, but no on-site sewer. The roads are gravel, but well maintained. None of the other campgrounds in the area come close to the quality of Pioneer.

Since it is near Worlds End State Park and Ricketts Glen State Park, there are plenty of hiking trails, fishing and swimming. Worlds End has good kayaking in the spring on the Loyalsock Creek. Ricketts Glen has Lake Jean for boating (electric motors only).

Thanks for the info. I have driven thru Worlds End SP, they have a campground of some sort there as I recall, not sure if they have electric or not. Beautiful area especially at the right times of the year. It was fall when I went thru that area the last time. Sunline1
