Personal Comments:
Shabbona is only 45 minutes from our house and is our favorite close to home campground. There are 150 sites, some overlooking the lake and almost all are wooded. But, because the park is so close to Chicago is does tend to be very busy on weekends. Our favorite things about this campground are the clean shower house with flush toilets, lovely lake, convenient camp store, nice boathouse with great ice cream, large in ground fire rings, fun trails, and great fishing. They also have very nice handicapped sites. We liked site 149 as it was a large site, wooded, and close, but not too close, to the shower house.
