Recall Clearance Letter

I checked with Cdn Customs and I was told that trailers do not need a Recall Clearance Letter. I'd be interested to know if you got your Sunline imported into Canada and what the process was. Hope you can reply. Thank you.

Thank you kindly for all your responses. We were finally able to cut thru the 'red tape' by taking in copies of responses received here indicating concern over this required document and that of the Manufacturer no longer being available. We were able to accumulate 'stats' on the rig via a local RV Dealer and the SN assigned and verified. We are proud to say "Suni" is now a legal immigrant in Manitoba with papers and all! Now if we could just get the water heater to kick in on AC instead of gas, we'd be happening. Looking forward to seeing others along our trails. Have a super summer all!

I am assuming you know that there is an electrical switch on some models of water heaters, right on the tank?

Mine was accessible from the inside, I believe.

Yes, we were able to test the switch which is fine. We inherited the rig from my Dad in paliative care with cancer. He 'came around' a bit today so I asked him, his reply was "oh yea, give me a second to process it so I can explain it" and he is again sleeping. Trial error & pure will is sure to iron out this kink eventually. Thnx for the heads up on the switch tho!

Cheree,

What year/model do you have? This may help in determining what you do(n't) have. For example, if it's from the '80's, I don't think it would have a gas/electric water heater.
