2499 for sale
Campers Barn of Hudson Valley has a 2005 sunline 2499 for sale. I just bought a T-2075 there and they had the 2499 also. Good luck, Barry

I know it's an '04. but you won't find a better maintained 2499 than this one:

Jim,
I'll second the recommendation for JohnB's '04 T-2499. First off, it is a garage kept, pristine baby. Loaded with MANY upgrades, and it has the larger frame (in '05 Sunline went with a lighter tongue design that has caused some issues, I am a previous 2499 owner that experienced that tongue frame issue, never did really trust the trailer again). JohnB is offering his 2499 at a fantastic price, and getting his would be like getting a NEW Sunline because it is so well maintained.
Good luck in your search/decision,
Kitty

Ditto the recommendations for JohnB's 2499. If I was in the market I would buy it in a heartbeat. I'd much rather buy a well maintained unit, even if older, than something newer which was not maintained. I've looked at many, many used trailers in my lifetime, and it's amazing how the vast majority of people do not maintain their rigs properly.

In reference to Kitty's comments about the frame issues on the '05 and newer 2499's you should look through this thread so you have an idea of what to look for and avoid on one of these units:
http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/ph...pic.php?t=2123
It's a long thread, but worth the read.

T-2499
A little over a week ago I took DW to a dealership in Canton, so we could go inside a T-2499 and get the feel for what one is like. Sort of trying one on for size.
It was an '03 and not very well maintained, in my opinion. This was the first time either of us had been inside a T-2499, and we both felt we could be very happy with a T-2499 in good condition.
I mentioned roof maintenance to the salesperson and expressed my concern about the "no walk on roof", that I have seen discussed on this forum.
I was trying to get him to give me a cost figure on having the dealership do it.
He said that walking on the roof was no problem, and to prove his point, he went and fetched a step ladder, climbed up on the roof and proceeded to walk around. I stood on the step ladder and watched.
He made no attempt at hitting the trusses, and the roof sank very noticeably where he put his feet.
That is one coach I will not buy!
The unit had a "Stoltzfuss" (don't know if I spelled that correctly) sticker on it, so that was probably who originally sold it.
I have a feeling that many dealers around here do not know much about Sunlines. I pointed out that one leaf was missing in the table, and he had no clue.

Jim - FYI if you are trying to contact John B - he is away on vacation - he said (this past weekend) that he would be on the road for another week or so).
If you (or anyone) are serious about purchasing a 2499 - take a look at John's - you will not be sorry!!!!!

Thanks everyone. Kind words greatly appreciated.
"The Camper 1" is still available and willing to go home with a new camping family.
Thanks

Ah yes, at Crossroads in Newfield... That is a pre-change unit, so it is affected and could use some reinforcing.

I have a 07 2499 as well, and I know you will be delighted with it. Good luck with it. What's your tow vehicle?

Congrats on your new coach!
I've updated your coach record to reflect your purchase. If you get a manual and would like to submit more information on it, I would greatly appreciate it!

Congrats on your purchase. The 2499 is a wonderful floor plan. I had an '06 with header issues, had them fixed, and it bent again. If Gary hadn't come into my life, I would have had more "FIX" done to it. I did have a lot of tongue weight, so that helped cause the problem. I ended up trading it in for a much larger Sunline (T-320SR) that could accommodate Gary & I, his 2 kids(part time) and my greyhound(at the time), and then we traded that in for our 5th wheel.
Having the header & A-frame re-enforced on yours should prevent any issues.
Kitty
