Sunline Mattress

I just purchased a used 2006 Sunline, and am pretty sure the mattress is not the original sunline mattress.

Does anybody have an extra "Sunline" queen mattress laying around?

Preferably in eastern Pa, so that I can pick it up.

Thanks
Phil

Phil, I recently had to put a mattress in my Sunline. Weight and comfort were concerns. I ended up using a 4" memory foam mattress topper that I already had. Putting that on a hard surface was perfect, it's super comfortable. Just a thought.

Phil,

Are you wanting a "Sunline" mattress because you think it will be "more" comfortable than what is currently in your Sunline? Most original RV mattresses are very "springy" with very little padding and they sure don't weigh much.

Most people usually end up replacing the original mattress with one they purchase else where.

Thanks for all the replies. I have had two sunlines, now the third, and I thought the first two I had, had a much firmer mattress in both. This one in the 2006, actually looks like Norman Bates' mother just got off the bed. There is an indentation on both sides that does not spring back.

I just thought Sunline came with a better mattress.

I did check out John's link, and the rv mattresses on that site, are not bad priced. I may look into that.

I do have the topper on the mattress now, but still is not like my 2001 mattress.

Thanks again
Phil

Our 2006 mattress was as Kitty described. You wouldn't really want one believe me! Now those memory foam jobs that were in the QUE were fabulous!

The person that I bought my 1996 from was the second owner, and threw away the original matress. they then realized that it was a "short queen", and not easily available. They instead bought a double for it, allowing the wood deck to stick out. I thought that was just plain dumb. Here in the Detroit metro area there are a few places that make custom mattresses, mostly for the boating crowd. Buying from a mattress place versus a marina it actually was pretty inexpensive. I was able to order thier "posture pedic" clone for around $150, made to my exact measurements. I think it took them 10 days or so to process the order, make it, and ship it in from the local factory.

I am in the Detroit Metro area as well, where did you go for your mattress? I have the original queen mattress and would like to find one that is slightly longer and something with a more cushion.

I went to Mattress World if I recall correctly, on Grattiot near 13 Mile Rd . This was a place that was ordering matresses by size. I think a lot of their order came from the boat owners. I only had to wat about a week or so to get it in. There has to be several places on the east side that do similar orders for the boat owners. I think I paid about $150 or so for the mattress, and I was aboe to order it by comfort level. In other words the kind that came wit h the trailer was likely some sort of innerspring, a couple layers of foam and the cover. If you bounced on it you could feel the wood below. the one I ordered was their version of a Sealy Posture Pedic. It is a bit heavier because of the materials inside but it's REAL nice. Best of luck to you.

Jim
