Looking For Small Sunline TT

Hello all, first post. My wife and I are looking for a small Sunline. We currently have a pop-up and want to move into a hardsided trailer. It's just the two of us, so we're looking for something under 17' ft. Also, single axel would be prefered. An older unit (80's or 90's) would be fine. I would like to find a clean trailer that does not need a lot of work. A neighbor of ours has an older Sunline (15') and we really like the layout. Please PM me with any leads. Please only in the Pa. / NJ / Del area.

Thanks
Al

That 16 footer would have been perfect. Called yesterday, it sold on Monday. Dang! Thanks for posting the links.

Hi Al,

Hers some ads I found, this will keep you busy for a while. IF you start at the bottom of the list, there is one or two 15/16 footers there. Good Luck, and welcome to the group.

Al,

We have a 1982 Sunline 15.5 SB, single axle and love it. VEry easy to tow and works well after all these years. Good luck on your search. We did buy ours on Craigs list.

We learned fast to watch and call as soon as ads appeared on Craig's list. Anything in decent condition for a fair price sells rapidly. Don't hesitate. If something looks good make that call and check it out PRONTO! [/list]

Wanda

Finding a nice Sunline is much tougher than I thought it would be. We've looked at two small Sunlines on Craigslist over the past week and both of them have been junk. Both people "asured" me that their trailers were in great shape and everything's in working order. Well both have been a disaster, broken heaters, broken fridg, broken A/C, you get the picture. I understand some of these trailers are 20 years old, but, at least put a current picture in your add not one taken years ago. Wish people were a little more honest about what they are trying to sell. We will keep searching.

Broken Trailers

Anything that is 20 years old is likely to have somethings broken. What I looked for first is structure. If the structure is sound most everything can be fixed. Water leaks and soft floors should be relatively obvious.

Stoves rarely fail. Heaters are in the same class, partially because they're rarely used. Refrigerators, if replaced with an equal are expensive; hot water heaters are not expensive.

Air conditioners seem unnecessary unless you live in the SOuth. In our second year we have never felt we needed an airconditioner. There are so many windows on this thing that wee always feel cool enough.

I've been pleasantly surprised how well things worked in a 26 year old trailer. All the windows worked. The refrigerator stopped working, replaced with an electric. A couple of soft spots in the floor and a couple of small leaks. The frame ground needed reconnecting. A lot of little things but all of them helped me become intimate with my Sunline, a nice feeling to know your rig when you're out of the way.

Good Travels to all,

Yup, my old 1550 may be for sale this spring, but she's in need of a water heater, and the ac blows warm. That's pretty typical of these older types.

Hi Meow

You do have a beautiful camper. Wish you the best of luck finding it a new home.

Question:

Where did you get that great looking drop leaf rolling coffee table?

Thanks

John
