looking for a grey water holding tank

Hello to all. Very happy to be part of this family.
On our travel home from Texas debris on the road flew under our camper and busted our grey water holding tank. I have tried to find another tank, but alas I could not find one. If anyone has information on where I might be able to find one I would really appreciate the info. Currently we are using a port-a-potty. It is hopefully a temporary fix to my dilemma. Thank you in advance for any information available.

RV manufacturers have holding tanks custom made to fit their units so it is highly unlikely that you can get an off-the-shelf replacement. But many of the tank manufacturers will make up one-offs to your specifications. If you're comfortable with this kind of repair, you'll want to find someone who is to either do it for you or guide you through it.

Somewhere easily founbd on this forum is a huge list of suppliers of RV parts. There should be several tank manufacturers listed.

There are also several threads on repairs to these tanks, some of them have been recently added to. Depending on the damage, repair may be a good option.

You said you broke the gray water tank but are using a porta-potty in the interim? Do you mean black water tank? If I broke a gray water tank, I'd be using dishpans for most washing, and campground showers for personal hygiene.

One other option may be to take the rig to an RV repair shop. But because Sunline is out of business, some of them might not realize that the fix is the same, regardless of manufacturer. It's an unfortunate, but all too real, situation.

thanks Steve

I have to laugh at myself for saying grey instead of black...Duh!..lol
Our tank is history. I will check for vendors that might have a tank. It is too bad that the business closed. We were saying earlier that it's too bad that there is not salvage yards for campers like they have for cars...
Anyway, I sure do appreciate you responding. Thank you

I know you are down south, however some do ship. There are many RV surplus places near Elkhart IN. It is hit and miss if the tanks your have can be adapted but the prices are good. I have been to several and you can build an entire camper and then some, just you need to be creative in how to arrange to what they have.

Try a web search in your local area for RV Salvage, or RV Surplus, there may be some.

Here are 3 of then in the Elkhart area that I have been too

Bontrager's Surplus – RV and Mobile Home Supplies

Factory RV Surplus

Axles, Plumbing Fixtures and Parts items in Johnson's Surplus store on eBay! They also have this site too Trailer & RV Parts - Axles, Appliances,Tires and more! trailerrvparts.com

Here is a good thread on solvent welding ABS tanks. As long as you have all the pieces still, you can repair the tank.

This should help too on our site. Go to the Google Custom Search box a little down the screen. Our admim made this for us to search the forum. It works much better then the embedded forum search. Many on the forum have repair permanently their cracks ABS holding takes.

Hope this helps and good luck
