Sunline T-1950
2006 T-1950. I'm trading her in next week and can't do so without letting my Sunline friends know she's available. There's a catch though. To be to my advantage over the trade in price and the additional state sales tax I'll have to pay without a trade in, I'll need to have $9000 in my hands by Saturday Apr 21st.
The only add-ons are a Max air vent cover over the bathroom and a Max air cover with the 3 speed reversable 12v fan in the living space. It has 4 new load range D tires with less than 1000 miles. It also has custom made cabinet shelves by Poppy and Nana. (thanks guys)
It will include everything behind the receiver: hitch, equalizer bars and sway bar. It has a bumper mounted spare tire with Sunline logo cover.
It's still winterized and at the house in Schenectady, NY

Because I'm getting the driveway sealed, I'm putting off delivery of the new camper and can delay down payment until Apr 28.
Now I have another week to sell the Sunny before trade in. I would have to have the money by the 28th. Make me an offer.

Hi,
I might have been intersted at a more realistic price, but I believe it's a lot higher than other 2006's. I'm seeing it at $6600 on NADA for low RETIAL.
Without knowing the deal, my guess is that you're really not getting $9000 (minus tax savings) for your trade and they are marking up the one you are purchasing so it looks like you're getting $9000 (-taxes).
If you told them you'd pay cash (or no trade-in), you could negotiate a lower price than what you're paying now. Then you COULD sell the T1950 for $6500, or whatever its private party book value really is.
For example, if you're paying $20,000 for your new one, and they give you $8500 trade-in, You'd need $11,500 out of pocket. But if you tell them you don't want to trade in, then you offer $18,000 for your new one, sell the T1950 for a more realistic $6500, your out of pocket is still $11,500.
They make extra thousands with the trade-in trick. Do a search online for the model you're buying, I bet you can get it less.
If you have any incling of doing that, please let me know.

I hear what you're saying, but I'm not trusting NADA too much these days. If you check the market, I doubt you'll find any 2006 Sunline model listed for under $8500 (except a FEMA trailer maybe or one with damage to it). That being said, the last '06 1950 I saw come up was listed for $11,000.
You do have a very important point about the cash incentive though. The dealer will have to spend money to have someone clean it, put it on the lot, sell it, etc. That means their money is tied up in the inventory for a while. These days, I haven't seen Sunlines move real quick (unless they do without me ever seeing them), but the ones out there sit around a while. The prices of new ones are coming down and people who do decide to get something new, between used Sunlines holding their value so well and the new ones dropping down, more people are just choosing the new something option.
Honestly, if the dealer is willing to give Paul $9k for his 1950, that's a risky move. Maybe they can command a little higher price as a dealer, but they put themselves at risk for not making much on it.

I had to try. With the trade in offer I'd break even selling at 8k and have an advantage at 9k. I see one at a local dealer for 10.5k where I figure he'd take 9 or 9.5. We thought we'd feel guilty if we didn't let our Sunline friends know it was available, keep it in the family.
It's in excellent shape, new tires and cleaned up and ready to go. We bring it in a week from Thursday.

Please leave a note in the Sunline binder or in a cabinet to let the new owner know about our group.

It's already on the cover of the manual binder.

no, sorry no pics. She was traded about 1 year ago for the new 5th wheel. It lasted only a very short time on the lot.
