Selling My 1996 Solaris T-1700

The wife and I have purchased a new to us Sunline T2370 so need to sell our beloved T-1700. It’s in good condition and has been a labor of love for the 2 years we’ve owned it. We are the third owners and have all the manuals in the Sunline binder.

Everything works. Tires and wheels are almost brand new (160 miles), wheel bearings were done last fall. It also comes with a brand new awning (not installed).

There was some previous water damage in the rear bathroom that was all repaired.

This is one of the seven foot wide models and the listed dry weight is 2,425 pounds. GVWR is 4,000 pounds. Listed tongue weight is 350 pounds. It’s never had a weight distribution installed on it.

The front sofa turns into a 48” X 74” bed and the dinette turns into a 36” X 74” bed.

Thought I would offer it here before putting it on Craigslist.

Located in Easton, Maryland

Asking $4,200.

I know you warned me about it being painted and not looking factory, but it sure looks tastefully done for not being factory. Nice work!

I like the black stripes I have a 1990 T1700 with very tired decals the black maybe an option! There some interesting differences but it's basically the same camper mine has an aluminum roof, rear window, cabinet above the fridge and different woodwork what it does have though is that same hateful tub shower!

Yeah, my original stripes were more than tired. Was almost embarrassing.
I assume Sunline did away with the cabinet above the refrigerator to make room for a television and I guess that style tub was used due to space constraints under it. We’ve actually gotten used to it though.

Yeah those tubs were popular for a good while yes a great deal of plumbing is underneath otherwise mine would have been gone a long time ago. I just don't fit and I'm only 6' the lowest part actually sits on a foam block making it another 2" higher! They are a really nice 2 person camper and quite roomy with the couch folded up. I took care of my TV problem when I redid the interior the TV is where the oven was!

Yeah, I could see how you being 6 feet tall could be a problem. I’m only 5’ 7”.

A guy looked at my camper the other day, loved everything about it, and would have bought it if not for the fact he was 6’ 1”.

The people I bought my 2363 from, the original owners, also had a height issue. He was like 6'1" too. Most of the trailer wasn't an issue, but the A/C was non ducted and stuck down right in the middle. He always had to duck for that.

That trailer seemed shorter to me and it was. They were only 6'4" inside, where my '97 is 6'6". It looks like yours is only 6'1"!

Yes, 6’ 1”
My 2000 2370 is 6’ 4”
What year did they change to 6’ 6”?

Interestingly my 2370 is listed as 8’ wide when its actually 7’ 10” wide. That turned out to be a good thing as I would have needed to purchase mirror extensions otherwise.

H'mm, well in 2004 and 2006 models, the camper is a little over 96" wide (about 1/8 maybe 1/4" at the most) with the corners removed. The outside physical wall is 96" + 1/8 - 1/4" wide. I know this as we just completed installing our 3rd 96" wide diamond plate on the front bottom.

My 7’ 10” measurement was taken from outside corner molding to outside corner molding.

Initially it wasn't a change, it was floorplan specific. Generally T-2475 and smaller (with the exception of the 2590) were 6'4", and the 2553 and up were 6'6". Between 2003 and 2004, all were made 6'6", even the 1950.

Nice talking with you and your husband Pepsigirl.
Good luck with your hunt. Maybe a T-1550 would better suit your towing limits. Seems like Sunline built a lot of those.
