However..................They won't take the order over the phone nor ship it even if you send a check, you have to stop in and pick it up. As of Jan 5 at noon they have one on hold and one left if you live near by.

Agree pwb01, I just got off the phone with the guy and this was after calling about 2 months ago and he never got back to me. He continued to state it would cost him more to send a guy to the post office to deliver it than the cover is worth, yah yah yah, blah blah blah. I guess the pony express only picks up once a week there.

If anyone lives in that area and wants to pick it up for me and send it to me I'll gladly pay you for the cover, shipping, and some extra for your troubles. 195 SR #1 needs a cover for her spare. Thanks.

They are holding a couple of items for me. I am thinking about finding a box the right size and shipping it to them along with a return shipping label.

I just have to find a box that will hold a pair of fender skirts!

I was handed the same story that he's a small dealer and can't be running to the post office. I guess Fed Ex picks up in China but not small towns in Pa. I offfered to check on the cost of shipping, send a check and ask Fed Ex myself to pick it up after the check cleared. He couldn't be bothered with that either. Is the RV business that good these days that a small dealer can operate that way? I would think they would bend over backwards to get the attention of a group such as ours.

Hmmph! Sorry for the unintended frustrations. Based on the inquiry outcomes you've experienced, I'll do no more Martin's-related postings.

Yeah, I was really wanting a second tire cover (I'm not using the original one), but I tried to order one from him back in early June and he was supposed to get back to me on the shipping. I also inquired about the fender skirts, and that really got him going and he wouldn't deal with getting any shipping for that, mainly because it was both a hastle and he didn't know how to ship something like that . Anyway, I just gave up because of his attitude...I wasn't about to give my money to anyone with such a poor attitude.

Based on all my industry e-mails and magazines, the industry is no where near good, so it wouldn't surprise me if he shuts down soon.

That's why many of us who live minutes away from Martins are willing to drive over an hour to deal with Stoltzfus.

Jon, or anybody do you know of anyone that would have any more of these covers for sale? I checked ebay and no such luck. Don't worry nasa, we know where not to buy from now at least. Thanks for giving us some hope though.

Hey it's sleeting and icy as hell outside right now, is anyone ready for spring????

Same here, some of the worst so far this winter! The first 10 mins of the news at 11 were all accident coverage. One was a 40 car pile-up, and there was also a 20 around too...

I'm ready for spring!

I remember hearing Butler had some tire covers, though more expensive than what Martin had it for, but I'm not sure if they have any left. I doubt it. I was going to call them to order one after I got fed up with Martin, but I wanted to have the tire covered to go to the M&G, so I just got a blank white one. I plan sometime this winter to have the same place that made the banner for the M&G print up some smaller logo-decals that I can just stick on the tire cover, much like the older ones were. The good news is I've had that one on for 6 months now, so all the wrinkles should be out of it, and I can just clean it with alcohol and stick the logo on. If anyone else should want to do the same, send me a PM. I'm not sure what the cost will be yet, but I'm sure it won't be cheap...hopefully under $40.

Jon

OK, now you've put another thought into this bonde head of mine I will take my tire cover off and run into town to the sign shop that made my "Kitty" logos:

I'll see if they can make the decals, and how much it would cost and post the info here. If I remember correctly, they charged me 15 bux for the "Kittys" logo.

OH, in fact, I'll do that tomorrow as I have a doctor appointment in town tomorrow.

I'm just now thawing out, as the power went out at 9am this morning and came back on at about 12:30. It's beautiful outside, we had an ice event last night, I had a tree come down on the chain link dog fence, so now it has a 12" dip in the top rail.

I really should take some pictures.

I've been meaning to call Stoltzfus for a while now to order up some extra parts, and I just did so. She said they have a lot left. Here's a link to what they had put on eBay...I'm not sure if the totals are accurate.

http://stores.ebay.com/stoltzfusmari...QQftidZ2QQtZkm

She's going to box it all up and call me back with the shipping cost. I did mention the situation at Martin's and she couldn't believe they would treat customers that way!

In going through some old receipts a while back, I did find our receipt from Stoltzfus in 2000 when we had to buy a 15" rim. General offers 10% off to their customers, does anyone know if Stoltzfus does the same? I gave her the customer # in hopes it might get me a discount.

Stoltzfus gives you a discount coupon for 10% off one item when you purchase an RV. Beyond that I don't know of any discount.

Kitty:

That's a great idea and the price they charged for your decal seems quite reasonable. Maybe they would consider making other replacement decals for our Sunlines. I'm anxious to hear how much they will want for this tire cover decal.

Dufours RV in Fitchburg had some tire covers last spring. If anyone's interested, I can see if they have any left.
