Red face We just bought a 1982 Sunline ;o)

Hi. I'm so excited to find this club.. My husband and I just purchased a 1982 13' Sunline and it's going to be so cute when we get done with it.. It needs a lot of work, and to be honest, the seller was "less" than honest with us.. Once we got it home and really tore into it, we discovered we were lied to about many things..

But we're still hyped about finding this cute little thing and can't wait to get started redoing the inside, once we get all the surprises fixed that is!

I'll post some pictures once we get started.. I've really enjoyed looking at the pictures others have posted of their trailers..

One thing that's puzzling us is the awning.. We have tried and tried to get that thing opened so we can see what kind of shape it's in, but we can't seem to get it to release.. Does anyone know of a secret to making it work?

Hi,

Let me be the first to welcome you to the club. We are a pretty laid back helpful bunch. There should be a little flip lever on the end of the awning roller you will need to move in order for it to pull out. Send us some pics and we can help sort it out for you. Hope you have many memorial journey's in your "new" Sunline.

Welcome, Challenders, and congrats on your "new-to-you" Sunline! Those smaller Sunnys are so cute I'm sure you'll get a lot of comments on yours. We love pixs here so, especially when you start working on it, please post.

I don't know about the "older" awnings but here's a YouTube video on opening (and closing) an RV awning that might be helpful to you:

Awning - How-to Operate - RV, Travel Trailer, or Motor Home - YouTube

As RV newbies, we used this video in learning how to open our awning as the previous owner of our Sunline never showed us how to do it and there was no instructions for it in the manual that came with it.

Congratulations. Seems full disclosure is not running rampant in TT sales lately. Just went through a bunch of repairs to a relatively new Sunline because the sellers wanted to be less than forthcoming in the representation of the one I bought.

Got a lot of help from the members here and got it all straightened out!! I'm sure they will do the same for you.

Post some pics!!!

Joe

I meant memorable journey's. Memorial journey's probably wouldn't be too much fun.

Thank you Wannabes...That video was very helpful.. We didn't turn the knobs at the bottom, so maybe that was the problem!! I'm gonna go out and try it right now...

Welcome to the forum, Karen and hubby! My wife and I bought a 1988 T-1350 (13') Sunline one year ago. It's been a lot of fun customizing it to our tastes - considering what we started out with. The previous owner did tell us the truth about ours, and we knew there would be things that weren't mentioned or known about. That's the norm for used <anything>. Too bad you were deceived.

Enjoy your "new" Sunny!
