thinking of buying a 2075

Hi everyone
I just joined this site, and it has been great to see all the help from the members!
I just borrowed a solaris 2005 2075 21ft. My family fell in love with it.
It seems to be a well thought out design. I used a WD hitch for the first time, with no problems(thanks to all the posts I read here).
My only complaint was, that I was not allowed into the camper when my family saw how clean and pristine it was!

Anyway, I now might buy it from my friend.
It is in perfect shape, and everything works.
It has:
ac
fridg/freezer
sound system
stove, oven
bath w shower
heat
Any ideas on what is a fair price to offer?
Her husband just passed away, and I don't want to take advantage of her kindness. I looked at NADA, and it said avg retail was 5600$.

Thanks for any help
Chris

eastern Mass.

Before deciding on a price.....Important to check the AGE of the tires-not the condition..also,is she including any equipment in her price? Is there an awning? Condition of the graphics? Is the towing equipment rated correctly for the weight of the unit, and is your tow vehicle rating adequate..and please take into consideration everything in it is 10 years old..the age and value will decrease by Spring when you finally get to use it! By the way,is this unit adequate for your family-you may want to look around a bit-21' camper only gives you about 17 1/2' of usable space...look around at a few before deciding.JMO, of course...Janalee

Thanks for the reply Janalee.
We towed the trailer with my new Ram 1500 diesel 70 miles to my camp in Bradford NH over Columboday. Bye the way, I got 18mpg for the 200 mile weekend! The WD hitch was from the factory/dealer. I checked it out and it is correct for the application.
The tires are original, so I presume, they should be replaced. The camper was owned by two lovely ,neat, handy people. They towed it across the US on it's only 7000 mile trip.
It has an awning, outside gas grill W quick connect, graphics are like new.
I opened all the compartments and looked for signs of mice or water and found none.
This trailer looks like it should still have the plastic on the seats! No dents, scratches. It comes with all sorts of extra stuff! The wheel bearing have grease niples(wow ,that was nice) Electric brakes worked.
It's funny you mention size. We are coming from a life of tenting. You know the old story of kids getting older along with our backs. This morning my wife commented that the trailer was a bit bigger than what she wanted(yikes). My wife and kids pleaded with me not to bring it back(hee hee)!
Of course I would like to get a deal, but I need a fair starting point. (her husband,my friend and I had started to talk about it just before his passing. Its funny, but at his funeral, his wife leaned over and asked if I was coming the next day to borrow the trailer, and how excited Gene was that we were going to use it). I guess we already have a fond attachment for it.

I just checked out the floorplan..do you have the dinette or sofa? How many kids?Where will they sleep? Are they old enough to sleep in a tent if necessary? It is a nice little trailer plan for two, but I would want more room for belongings etc.,with more. However,as much as I always look for the "steal",I think she is asking a fair price if it is that nice and the size you are happy with..Since you will need tires,I would offer 5k and that is fair for both of you..but,don't lose your sale over $600...I got $6300 for my '02 2363 last summer (2014), if that info helps. It's worth something that you know the owners and how they cared for the trailer. While NADA is a good starting point, I always figure that they're worth whatever someone will pay for them. So, if you're looking at the pristine trailer of your dreams you can decide what it's worth for you to have it. There are getting to be fewer and fewer used Sunlines on the market. People seem to hang on to them.

Used trailer

Hi, if you have a chance to pick up a pristine 2005 for anything under $6000, jump on it. They are great trailers and worth the nada price, if in good shape. You know you want it, just write the check and enjoy. Lol!

Thanks all
We will definitely be buying soon. The camper has a dinette. We have two kids. One is off to college, and the other is a very girly 14. She will alway be bringing a friend. My much better half, saw the beauty of only having to pack food and clothing. Oh, I forgot to mention Rico the wonder dog, a dainty 99lb yellow lab. We are a "less is more" family, so this is just the right size for us. (having grown up with a large boat, I always say "you can never have a boat small enough to suit your needs". It becomes a chore for upkeep.) I have friends with trailers that need their own zip code. They are beautiful! But, getting them to go any where is a major undertaking. and their owners go to only places that they know they will fit. They shy away from the mountains, and smaller camp grounds, state parks. Nothing wrong with big campers, just different likes and dislikes.
I'll post pictures.
I hope to do some cold weather trips before it snows too much. I have not been able to enjoy my camp during hunting season.
Thanks for all the help. It will help us come to an agreement without any one feeling cheated.

Colomboc...the same way you are asking for opinions from us--she could be doing the same...don't procrastinate and end up losing your dream! Janalee
P.S. glad to hear it has a dinette rather than a sofa..much more comfortable and functional!

Don't get too excited by the grease fittings. Wheel bearings should be packed by hand or you risk pushing grease past the rear seal and onto the brakes. Lots of info on the web. Pulling the drums to repack the bearings and buying new tires should be the first things you do. The brakes should be ok, but will need adjustment and if the trailer has moved regularly there should not be anything rusted or seized up.
