Sunline-wannabee no more!

Hi,
I got a warm welcome when I joined this group as a Sunline-wannabe quite some time ago. I have read a lot and learned a lot, and I have occasionally posted a comment.
As I got the title in the mail yesterday and went to the Secretary of State office and paid my dues and bought a plate for JohnB's T-2499, I suppose it is safe to announce that we now have a Sunline.
I'll also take the opportunity to introduce DW, by the name of Ruth. So Ruth and Roar, a.k.a. "R & R", that is us.
We will not bring our Sunline home until this "white crap" as Kitty calls it, is gone, but we are pretty excited and looking forward to it.
As we know, John is one of our prominent and knowledgeable "Master Handymen" on this forum, when it comes to Sunline TTs, TVs and the science of towing, so I am pretty sure we got the best 2004 Sunline there is!
Roar

That's for sure.

Congrates on the new (to you) Sunline.

Will we be seeing you and Ruth at the Midwest M&G now?

R & R,

WELCOME to the group and to wonderful Sunline ownership, congrats on your purchase. Yes, indeed you have a very special Sunline 2499.

I can understand not wanting to bring it home with "White Crap" on the ground. Hopefully spring is not too far away.

Kitty

Thanks Kitty!
I actually had thoughts of strapping the old "boards" to my feet and go X-C skiing today. The "white crap" is good for some things!
Unfortunately i had to drive Ruth to the foot doctor for a check up.
Nothing serious, - just had some ingrown toe nails fixed a few weeks ago, that got infected.

This is sort of like a Grand Reopening!

Welcome Roar and Ruth You are now official Sunliners!

Soon your T2499 will feel right at home behind your 2500 Dodge and your Sunline camping adventures will begin.

It is comforting to know our first Sunny is going to a loving home. Big Sister, The Camper 2, (T310SR) with her feet buried cold in the snow will miss the little fella. But life goes on and R & R’s Camper will once again proudly display the Sunline badge in campgrounds near and far.

Best of luck to you and looking forward to seeing your camping adventures.

John and Cindy

Is this the first member-to-member sale on SOC?

I can't say I remember another one.

Jon, This is number 4 I do believe unless I missed one that have exchanged Sunlines that we know of here on the Club

The first one ended up out west but was bought here on the east coast. I remember he had a siding buckling problem, heat cold contraction or something. A T1950 maybe. I just searched all the repairs and maintenance posts and cannot find him. I remember even posting on that thread.

The 2nd was Mooney and his brother, Gettomedic.

The 3rd just happened with Ihsolutions and Noob5er

And the 4th, Viking and JohnB

There may be another 1 or 2 but I can’t remember.

Yeah, Lance I think was his name, or something like that...bought it from PamWinn.

However, with 1, 2, and 3, weren't all the buyers not members when they bought? Mooney (Greg) sold to Dave before he became a member here, I think Lance or whatever his name was wasn't a member here until he had the siding issue, and then Noob5er found Jeff's FW elsewhere and joined as a result of purchasing. I think you and Roar are the first to have a sale between two existing club members.

Thanks Jon and John!
It wasn't really a secret, however, I was reluctant to announce anything until it was official, which I now feel it is, since the license plate is sitting on my desk.
It will be interesting to see how the T-2499 feels behind our TW, as compared to the Dutchmen 180. Hardly knew the 180 was back there.
With John's help in setting up the hitch properly, I am sure there will be no issues. I know I will appreciate the extra six feet of coach, which offers the space for a real bed.
My only regret is that I will not be able to offer our Sunline covered storage.
Will have to look into a soft cover, I suppose. Didn't worry too much about it on the 180, as it had a walk-on metal roof, which i washed and painted a few times.

Thank you Diane!
We looked at a T-1950, and liked it a lot.
The killer was that neither of us, when sleeping towards the outside wall, thought we would be able to get out of bed, when necessary, without significantly disturbing the other.
We do have a tow vehicle that is very appropriate for hauling the T-2499.
We are really looking forward to go camping in it.

From one 2499 to another; great to hear you found a Sunline that suits you as well as ours suits us.

Yes, Henry,
We are pretty happy about it.
It pretty much came down to a T-2363 or a T-2499.
The 2499 won out on two counts.
We have yet to camp with hook ups other than shorepower, so the larger tanks was a big +.
Finding a coach we could afford and that had been maintained by JohnB, was definitely a winner!
Roar
