Sunline Basics

Hi all. First time member here just looking for some advice from experienced owners. I am looking for a small camper for a month-long vacation around the states next summer. I just came across a small (12 1/2' 1200lbs) sunline for sale for only $900. The owner is not sure of the year but believes it to be about 1980. Overall it seems to be in pretty solid condition, however I am new to the camper world. Can anyone shed some light on common issues, things to look out for, etc.? (Dometic fridge is clearly quite old; do they typically enjoy a long life?) Pretty general inquiry I know. Thanks for the help!!

It's just a small version of a big one if the fridge works not to worry they last a very long time, two that I have had were 25-30 year old and worked fine. Water damage is a big thing to look out for but all of the rest of the stuff is common rv stuff. $900 is a good price if it's sound.

The older refrigerators did work well, but many of the '80s/90s ones didn't last much over 15 years or so, longer if they weren't used much. I'm told the worst thing for them is to be started and stopped frequently, it'll kill them sooner.

Water damage is definitely the biggest concern though. Floor, walls, and ceiling.

Well my old Toyota MH was an 87 so what's that 32 years and my T1700 is a 90 so 29 years and if I'm not careful it will freeze my milk! But yeah water damage is a deal breaker but for a little 12' for $900 it's doable.
