Saturn bought in PA for NC Mom!

An rv has been a lifelong dream but I had a time finding one that I could tow with my Acura MDX. Fell in love with a little Sunline I found on Craigslist but it sold before I had a chance to see it in person. But I was hooked.

Wanted something older I could "glamp" up but not a complete wreck! After looking here and searching the web I found this 1988 Sunline Saturn in Adamstown PA. I decided to buy based on photos alone and with help of the nice folks at Stoltzfus.

My husband has zero interest and I had to drive from NC by myself and drive it back...my first trailer towing experience....through D.C. Traffic!

Only casualty was the vent cover to water heater. Apparently we didn't latch it down properly during our walk through! I saw it flapping around and it flew off on the highway before I could safely pull over to latch! (Would love advice on getting another one! Where to find?)

Grateful for this site. I'm an almost 50 year old adventurous woman with an empty nest and ideas about exploring !

I have the same thing it is a dream to tow great camper for two people (and a dog of course) I have redone the interior to bring it more up to date my only complaint is the shower and that silly sit down tub other than that I love it.

Welcome and congrats on the new to you Sunline!

That access panel is actually for the back of the refrigerator, not the water heater. The water heater is the square one right in front of the tires.

The panel cover is getting hard to find these days, but a few places still carry them. They don't sell just the door, you have to buy the whole door and frame assembly. Here's a source with just about the cheapest price:

Dometic Refrigerator RM2214 Access Door/Panel/Vent Exterior Polar..

or here from Amazon:

Awesome! The door should be a direct fit without any modifications, but at least you will have a full frame if needed.

Just make sure it's latched tightly next time

I hear what your saying, but not sure there would be enough room to stow the shore power cord without that space under the seat of the tub?

Congrats on your new camper! You are one brave woman, driving it for the first time through DC commuter traffic:P I would love to see what you do with the interior. As you have already experienced, you will get excellent help here

There's not, the plumbing for everything is under there tank vent pipes, water pipe runs the water pump, wiring, power cord and my added 2 gallon expansion tank directly under the seat. I did fasten the shower head to the overhead that makes it a bit more user friendly it works but it sure would be nice to actually have a little more than a few square inches to stand in guess that's why campgrounds have showers.
