I finally managed to take a few pics of our trailer this past week. I'm trying to give it a full restoration. While upgrading some things and keeping it as original as possible. The sigh in the back window was my wife's idea as a neighbor prompted us to name the trailer. "Our Tin Lizzy" won the vote. I had another couple of names for it. "Good Enough For Now" and "Been There Done That" and a couple more. I learned to never argue with the women (losing battle)

Some of you might recall when I said I wanted to run the 2,000 watt AC inverter for the fridge while driving. I know I could have used the propane but I wanted one more ability for powering stuff. From the battery and connected directly to a 150amp fuse I ran #4 cable from the battery and fuse, through the fire wall into a twist-on welding connector. Female connector on the hot side and male on the cold side.
I kept the inverter in the rear of the truck for free flowing air. From there I used an extension cord and tied to the trailer back to the trailer's shore power cord. Our trip was about 7 or 8 hours and our fridge was as cold as can be. I doubt I used much more gasoline to power the inverter so powering the fridge, IMO, was sort of free. It worked 100%. My inverter has a remote off/on switch so in case of emergency I can turn it off, or in a disaster I can disconnect the welding connectors instantly, not to mention the 150amp fuse so all safety consideration were taken into effect.

I think one of my last projects is to repaint the walk-in door and repaint the original stripes.

I polished and waxed the trailer twice so far this summer and it looks not too bad.

Your fridge isn't a 3-way? Most can run on propane, 110 AC, or 12 volts.

Francis..I "believe" you will find Sunlines are usually 2-way, not 3-way...at least ALL of the 8 Sunnies I have owned were..in fact, I have now owned 20 campers and none of them were 3 way....I have seen a couple out there in the past though.

That is a great looking camper. You can tell it get's a lot of TLC.

I believe pop up trailers and possibly some of the conversion vans may have 3 way frigs.

My Toyota motor home had a 3 way so it could be used when driving I would guess motor homes did because they make their own power. I use gas never have had it blow out and it uses so little propane I don't even worry about it. The propane does cool better. I did check my fridge on 120 volt power it drew 190 watts if I know I'm going camping the next day I plug it in then switch to gas when I leave and turn it off when I get home.

Years ago my previous trailer had a 3 way fridge. This T1350 only has a 2 way, 120VAC and Propane, which is common. Hence is why I rigged up the 2,000watt AC inverter. I did it mostly as a fun project one of the reasons... because I could, so I did..

I've been busy that last week getting other projects completed but I'll post some pics of MY AC inverter install and description.
And for Janalee, I take some interior pics of the TT. I'm slowly chewing away at the "Honey-do list"

Here are a series of pictures of my AC Inverter and install.

At the battery is a 150 AMP fuse hooked up to heavy gauge cable. I used split loom to carry it along the firewall and then through the firewall on the passenger side.

Since I didn't have the proper grommet I did a little overkill on silicone between split loom and firewall edges.
On the passenger side carpet you'll see two connectors.

These are welder connectors male & female, great for that quick disconnect if needed

Under the back seat I have inserted the AC inverter and it sits comfortably and surrounded by foam and rubber padding to alleviate any rattles I hate rattles and squeaks)

The ground is a simple heavy duty cable and bolted to the floor behind the most rear seats

Everything is installed in such a way that I can remove the entire set-up and in few minutes and maybe use on another project if I wish to.

I have used this set up a few times primarily to power our fridge when traveling. Yes, I could use propane no problem but sometimes these little projects weigh more because it's an alternative and a do it yourself that works great...and.... my 12 volt power is free. I put some text inside the pictures, whether you can read it or not is another issue. It looks like my Canon software does not have arrows for pointing at things. Any questions are welcome




Before I forget.... When I actually use the inverter. I remove it from under the seat and place it securely on top of anything packed in the back of the truck. It does have a cooling fan and I always make sure it has free air flow. When I'm fished with it I place it back under the seat

This is for Janalee, as promised. I think all T1350s are about the same. We tried to keep our as factory stock as possible as far as cosmetics are concerned. All wiring and plumbing have been updated as required

Thanks Jerry!! It looks wonderful! My first Sunline was a 1981 1350!! First trip was to Florida for a week with my cousin..towed with a Buick Station wagon..lots of fun! I suggested to Sunline how to make it a double +/- bed giving more floor space,eliminating the use of the other cushions. I put a foam cushion on a board and covered with coordinating cloth,it was maybe 12-15" deep and wide enough to span the space. The suggestion was in TL magazine...I was a frequent contributor!!.Then Sunline used my suggestion to add the short flap on the bedspread top making it easier to make the bed and added my corner elastics!
