Newbie

I just added another camper to my stable. A 1988 Saturn. I am not sure of the model. I think it is a T-1550. I have not measured the box. Got a screaming deal. Just need to clean her up and ready to use.

Welcome and congrats! Saw your picture on TCT yesterday. It looks in really nice shape, and should clean up well. Just make sure the roof is sealed sufficiently and it should be good to go.

It looks like your picture got stuck in the moderation queue because it had a link. We've had a lot of issues with spam accounts trying to post here lately, and they often have links to outside sites for advertising. Being a new member, the system tagged your link and quarantined the post for approval.

I just approved it, but it appears you edited the post to remove the link.

To attach a picture, in the advanced reply screen, scroll down to additional options and click manage attachments. A window will pop up to attach the picture, just close it when you're done. Then it attaches the picture to your post.

Or, do like you did and pull the direct link to the picture in your photo album. Then paste it in your reply with IMG tags around it, [img] [/img].

Not bragging... wait... yes I am... I got this for $375. The front half of the ceiling has a slight bow in it. In the spring, I will remove it and see what is going on. The rest of the camper such as walls, cabinets, windows and floor are good all around. I will take before and after pics.

Glad you like it. This is a 1972. It is all original except the exterior paint. It still has original cushions, floor, icebox... everything. I feel lucky to have found it in lower WV.

Wow! Great.

I noticed the way they made the front to side siding termination. The screwed on molding is on the side of the camper verses the front like most campers are today. I'm assuming they folded the edges of the front siding over and then bound both the side siding and the front with the aluminium cap molding. Granted the putty sealing tape is still the weak link, but this older concept may have been a more positive sealing method then the newer looking ones. Corner leaks on camper is one of the major water infection locations.

Thanks again

John

I agree. They don't make them like they use to. What also helped is that this camper does not have any roof vents. They put crank out windows at the top of the walls instead.

That's a steal! It probably does have extensive water damage up there, but at least you know it now and can tackle it accordingly. The rest of the trailer looks in great shape, so it's well worth fixing right.
