New Sunline owners
Cynthia & I just bought our 1st camper. We got it from a woman who's dad lived in it for 2 years. He stopped living and she sold it to us. She knows nothing about it, no paperwork, nothing. We don't know much more than she does. In a closet we found a "Sunline Coach Company Quality Control Certificate" with the following info: 13 1/2 RD, trailer box is checked, No. of unit 5393, RV1 A 119.2 seal no 2890276.
It's rough but the bones appear solid and we're planning to glam it this winter to get ready for our 1st summer camping, anywhere we can.
We're looking for any info on this model. Places for parts, we'll need help with stove, fridge, heater, electrics, plumbing - to start. Manuals, diagrams... of course any tips or suggestions are always welcome.
This our first time on this site so haven't had time to mine it yet but will and expect to find a lot of the info we need has already been covered. Any links would be appreciated.
Also looking for links, books, suggestions on camping with a trailer in the North East. Thanks in advance. We're thinking this is going to be a blast.
John & Cynthia

CONGRATS,, N.A.F.C.A,, Tin Can Tourist
CONGRATS, Mass.. We use to be Troy NY residents..... Now East Tenn, but come thru in the summer for kids in central Maine..Two groups for activities can be the North America Family Camping Assn.. each state in NE has their chapter. Couple in central Maine have their own property camp ground ,, one big rally each summer, last yr for 2014 was Fryeburg fairgrounds Maine / N.H border..
Maybe only $23 / year & newsletters, etc.
2) For small classic rigs there is a national group called Tin Can Tourist.. Big Facebook page for free, but membership also under $25 / YEAR.. They can help locate parts or spare appliances as you need / change color etc. That 13 1/2 is not very common, but currently people collect / use small fiberglass (EGGS) like a Ciata & hold value going forward..Post a pic when can.. I had a 1979 15 ft.. early 80's had campers go to the modern 17 digit V.I.N. code ....Your rig may have FIVE #'s on the street side of the front frame. ?

Hi and welcome to the best forum for help and info you'll ever be a part of. Someone on here with a bunch of knowledge about early Sunnys will jump in soon and let you know all about your trailer. Meanwhile, good luck with it and Happy Camping.
What part of Mass are you from?

Western Mass. Ashfield. Smack in the middle of the Connecticut River Valley. Beautiful here in the more temperate months. Winter can be a challenge at times. Looking to spend some time at Lake George and the Cape this summer.

I'm guessing this is either a late 1980 coach, or possibly '83/'84. Having the QCC sheet in the closest means it won't be much newer than that.
With 5393 as a production number, I'm going to bet it's not a five digit VIN. Not ruling it out, but unlikely.
I'm actually betting on late 1980. Let me know if you can find 1LC2S1E14AD135393 on the left side of the tongue, about as far back as the propane tank.

Does anyone know how wide it is from the outside of tire to tire? How much does this thing weigh empty? It looks like it might be a handful getting it registered so I can tow it home. I have nothing but a sale agreement on the back of 1/2 an envelope. So, I'm thinking of putting it on a trailer to get it home. Not sure how big of a trailer I need.

Welcome to SOC.
Start with link above and click the download. You may also want to go forward a couple years and backward a couple years to compare years.
Pictures will help. Base color, stripe colors; as well as interior cushion colors, drapes color help with ID.
We have a New England Meet and Greet in August. You may be interested in going to.
