New owner of T-2499

We are now proud owners of our 2004 Sunline Solaris T-2499! We ended up purchasing this from a friend of ours who was the original owner. A great price, along with details of everything that he knew of that needs attention made us very comfortable with our purchase. No moisture, no leaks, in fantastic shape! Good friends are hard to find and we are very lucky in this case!
This is our first time owning a camper, but not camping, and we are excited about both the work to get her ready and also to hit the road for Penn State tailgating and camping with family and friends. A quick wash, caulking of the roof seams, new tires, new canopy cloth, and state inspection are first on the list. We'll then minimally outfit her for our first outing. The inside is spotless and looks new, with only a few minor things like a refrigerator shelf that is loose and also one in the pantry, a couple roof vents that need the closure plastic, and finally a noisy fan on the a/c. All of these are fully within my ability and I don't foresee any issues. Our 170 mile tow home was effortless with our 2005 Ford 4X4 5.4L 3.73 rear gear ratio truck.
Thank you for this group. Over the past couple of weeks, I have read so many posts and gained a wealth of information not only about Sunline, but also about the various things related to all campers and such. I still have a lot to learn, but I know that this group is here and information flows freely, thank you!

Congrats! The 2499 is such a nice layout and sounds like you got a good one! Remember to post pixs, especially of the tailgating at PSU. (The wife is a PSU grad.) Happy camping!

Glad to here that your wife is a PSU grad! Our daughter graduated a year ago and we have become avid fans of the school, love the surrounding area as well!
Here are a few pics. Still need to get a few once we set camp for the first time, these are all during our first visit and after we got her home.

2499

Best Wishes and Good Luck with your new toy. I love that layout. Looks like a well cared for unit. You'll appreciate that down the road.

Welcome Tom and Debbie,

Congrats on your T2499. We had the exact camper and year, including the Fern Blue interior. That was a really great camper. Ours may have only been a month or 2 apart in the build date. I can tell by you interior that the build date was close to when the 2005's started coming out.

Enjoy your new camper and welcome to the club.

John

New to the Club

Hello Sunliners. We, my wife and I are also new to the camping world. I'm not a senior member yet but my age could make me one. We purchased a used 2007 Sunline Solaris 24 '. Just the size for us and love having two doors with a great layout as we saw two incidents with motor homes on 75 here in fl. that caught fire and they had to crawl out of the windows. Ours is a camper, just feel safer. Love this site as I had some question on the ez lube axles and johnB got right back with an answer which I couldn't get from any dealer. Went on two short trips here in Fl. to get our feet wet and now starting to spread our wings. Next year we hope to take a few months and see the beautiful country we live in. We bought a new left over 2014 Ford LARIAT V-8 4X4 with towing pk. and hope this does the job. Any feed back on that would be appreciated but can't return it. So in closing, this year Florida camping ( there are many beautiful sites here) and next wherever the wife says MAKE A TURN. Happy Camping. Chuck & Sharon and oh yes Cosmo the Doodle.
