New owner of an old Sunline

My husband and I (Matt and Angie) just bought our first camper - a 1979 Sunline (looks like a Coyote?). We're very excited to use it, but will have to wait until this white stuff on the ground goes away We're in Michigan, so it could be a little while.

Hi Matt & Angie,

Welcome!

Where in Michigan are you? You should check out the Midwest Meet and Greet coming up in May!

Yours is certainly one of the older ones in Michigan...I've heard of a '77, and a '78 or two, but that's about it. Sunline didn't get a dealer up here until around that time, and production was so limited that very few could make it up here from people going to buy them in PA.

FYI- the Coyote's were a special line developed sort of as an off-brand. I've never actually seen one, so I imagine they are quite rare. They aren't associated with the newer Coyote brand though. Most of the Coyote models were mirror images of Sunline models.

So yours is probably still a 12 1/2' MC, assuming it is that floorplan.

Jon

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the invite to the M&G! We'd love to come, but we're in Midland, MI - about 3 hours north of Hillsdale. But maybe we'll make the trek - we're itching to try out our Sunline!

You're right - I don't think it's a Coyote - judging by the picture alone (no Coyote decals). The floorplan matches the 13 1/2 RD.

You won't find a better place to try it out! It's not just a place to go camping, it's an opportunity to have a live situation analysis crew on hand 24/7. So if you have anything that doesn't seem to be working right, one of us can probably give you an idea of what is wrong or maybe even fix it.

Dona (clueless campers) had a water leak last year which we all fixed right on the spot. It seemed somewhat harmless outside, but it would have caused internal damage over time.

A 13 1/2 RD, that is a small one. I've never actually been in one, but I am familiar with the floorplan.

In fact, we just had another new member join with one, mortonlykeleigh.

Here's some pictures of a '79 13 1/2' RD so you can know for sure.

This is mortonlykeleigh's coach:

These are great pictures! Thanks, Jon! It does look just like ours, although ours does not have an oven (only the stovetop).

Welcome to the group. Cute little Sunline. Check out the Meet n Greet forum, and think about joining us at Buttonwood in June.
