New Member with a 1984 SunLine T2101
Greetings!
I'm new to the Sunline owners club. Recent purchase of a 1984 T2101 21.5 foot camper. Looked for a while at similar sized newer trailers but most of them were junk. leaky roofs and soft floors for the most part. The Sunline was solid and in great condition for a 32 year old camper. The previous owner put in a new roof a/c, and 6 gallon hot water heater. The only issue so far is the hot water heater runs on propane but not on electric. Its a new unit so I'll check to see if it is wired correctly.

Check for a switch on the heater itself. Sometimes they can be hard to see/find, depending on the unit and how it's installed. Also, make sure to check the breaker. Dumb, I know, but don't ask me how I know.....
and welcome to the club!!

Welcome to the Sunline family. We're a happy and friendly bunch with a lot of accumulated knowledge about RV's in general and Sunlines in particular.
If your water heater is new and won't run on 110vac, I am willing to bet the fix is as easy as flipping a switch. Your heater is probably a Dometic or Suburban but I'd guess more likely a Dometic. On the back side of the heater, there is a rocker switch. Here's a pic of mine. On top of the aluminum electric box, just to the left of where the power cable enters is the rocker switch. It has to be on for the heater to work on 110vac. I rarely turned it on because most of our camping was dry camping so we had to use the heater and fridge on propane all the time. Leaving it off was extra insurance that it would not be accidentally turned on with the tank empty.

By-pass
Steve, that's a perfect photo of the by-pass assembly. A lot of folks don't know where it is or what it looks like. Thanks for posting.

FYI - That is a two-valve bypass, mine only has one valve at the bottom. The top valve has been replaced by a check valve. 2007 T-276.

Excellent point, Mack. Sometime in the early 2000's, the entire RV marketplace moved from the 2 valve bypasses to the one valve/one check valve system.
For those that want to know more about the winterizing bypasses, I believe I placed a write-up with easy to understand graphics in the FILES area. It's been there a while so it may be towards the back somewhere. These systems have not changed over the years so whatever is documented there is still 100% applicable to the newest rigs.

Welcome to the family! I LOVE my little Sunline.
I have also had issues with my water heater, but it's easily solved. Look up some of my old posts, and you'll see what I did.
I didn't have an electric hot water in my Sunline, but I used a Hot Rod conversion kit. It works GREAT!!! I love it!
Happy Camping!!

Just back from a mini vacation to N.H. to visit friends. Thanks for the replies to my post. I checked out the back of the new Atwood water heater and found that the wires from the black relay box were not connected. I'm going to check with the previous owner to see why not. Other than that I'm very happy with the camper. Seems to be a lot of members with knowledge of all RV's, especially the Sunline group. Thanks Again for all your input.
