Hi Folks, We just bought a 1990 Sunline T170. The previous owner told me about this group so I figured I should sign up. I haven't got it home yet, but I'll post some pictures when that happens. It looks like it's been taken care of, but it's been sitting for a number of years so I don't know what works and what doesn't. I didn't pay too much so I should be OK if I have to repair a few things. I used to be a RV tech in a previous life so I'm pretty comfortable handling whatever it throws at me. I need to look for a tow vehicle since my Subaru won't handle this. I'll borrow a truck this week just to get it home. I'll start posting more after I get it and start using it.
Gary

Welcome, the wife and I have a '96 T-1700 which is similar to yours, I think.
We love it so far.
Please post some pics when you get it home.

Mine has 2 axles. Did they make some 17's with single axle?

johnnybgood's T1700 has tandems. If you click the yellow bar above the pic, it expands to a larger size (or zoom it on your phone), you can see the left side of the second wheel under the table.

Welcome! I used to have a T1700 too. Got too old to crawl over each other and upsized to the 2363. I miss the little guy though. Real easy to tow.
Post photos when you can. We're in Portland.

I'm in Turner, just north of you. I need to buy a tow vehicle. Anyone have any idea what the 17 weighs? I'm guessing 3000 to 3500 lbs?

In the files area, there are brochures for every year of production, which include specs, weights, etc.
Your '90 T1700: Dry weight is 2380#, GVWR is 4,000# giving payload of 1,620# which is very, very respectable.

Crawl over each other? You must be young and small. My wife gets the front bed and I sleep on the dinette. Although it sounds like fun, she said there's no way we're sharing a 48" X 75" bed

I have a 90 T1700 I have been every where with that thing I tow it with a Tacoma no problem so you don't need some thing real big. I'm in Brownfield 7 miles south of Fryeburg. Sounds like we are getting a good collection of Mainers.

Thanks , that's good to know, as I have been looking at Tacomas. We hope to spend some time on ours this winter getting everything checked out and start using it next spring. See you around maybe.

I generally go north (Canada) or west VT I do my best to avoid cities all though we have done pretty much all of the Maine coast. My only complaint with my T1700 is the stupid sit down shower arrangement. The T1700 is a very stable little camper and tows effortlessly with out WD and anti sway.
