New from Va

Hi we are from Va and we just purchased a 1989 35' pull behind camper. The title says it weighs 4951 lbs. I was wondering if that sounds about right?

You may want to check the FILES section and download the brochures for 1989 models....find your floor plan and you will have all the info on the weights in the brochure.

Welcome to the SOC Forum....you will find that the members on this forum are most helpful and easy to get along with and we like to see photos of your Sunline....also remember the only dumb question is the one not asked!

Hi Pam & Randy,

Welcome to the group and congrats on your Sunline purchase. Like Kathy said, look in the files section and you look for your model year and then examine the floor plans until you find yours. You will be able to get the weights from that brochure. Pages 11 & 12 in the 1985 brochure show the floor plans & specs for the different models.

One thing you don't want to do is go by the weight listed on the title, as in most cases it is not correct. Actually the best thing to do is use the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) that is the max your trailer is rated to weight when loaded ready to camp. It is also the weight rating you need to use to figure how much tongue weight you will put on your tow vehicle. Your ideal tongue weight should be about 12 - 13% of the GVWR. The GVWR can/could be different than listed in the brochure "if" the trailer left the factor with any options that we NOT standard items.

Will you be towing the trailer around, or will you be putting it on a seasonal site ?

OH, pictures, we love to see pictures of Sunlines, so if you get a chance to take some & post them, we'd like to see them.

Kitty

If you need additional help, please feel free to ask.
