Looking for more info on my 1973-75 pickup camper

Hello, We purchased a pickup truck that came w/ a camper. We believe it's a 1973 Runabout, but we're not sure and we're looking for more information. The VIN sticker is completely worn. So it could be a 1975, we're not sure. Does anyone have any info and/or manuals they can share to help us identify what we have? We especially want to know the weight.

Hi fle,

Welcome to Sunline Owners Club and congrats on your new truck camper!

This may help, in our files section we have a copy of the 1973, 1975 and the 1977 truck camper brochures. I looked quickly and the 73 and the 75 brochure shows floor plans and the model numbers, but no weights. In the 77 brochure by then the brochures became better and have the model numbers and an approx weight. If your floor plan lines up with one of them in the 77 brochure the weight may be in the ball park. Not knowing what you are doing with the weight number, do not trust it as gospel more of what league your in. On these old ones, you may have to get the truck and camper weighed at a truck stop and then go back a 2nd time with the camper off the truck to back into the real weight.

To get to our files section, you need to be logged in, then along the top of the screen are tabs. Look for the one marked FILES, looks like this

Click the files tab and once in, look for "Brochures" Then scroll to year and download a PDF of the right brochure. Some times the truck campers had their own brochure, other years they where mixed in the yearly brochure with the travel trailers, fifth wheels and the truck campers. The methods changed over the years.

We also do have a Sunline Truck forum area on the our site which may help. See here Sunline Truck Campers - Sunline Coach Owner's Club

We do not have as many truck camper members as we do travel trailer members but many of the topics do cross over into the TT line and we can help as we can.

Good luck with your camper

Thanks

John

Thank you so much! This helps a lot! And I think I may have a later 70's or early 80's model now after viewing the brochures. We were going to fix it up but then my job shut down so we tried to sell and people wanted to know the weight. that's why I was trying to find out. I'd love to still keep and fix up but we already have a pop-up which my husband prefers to tow. He likes being able to see out the center rear view mirror. Not sure what will happen. But thanks again for all the info, this has been a great help!

Yeah, it won't have a VIN sticker if it's older than 1978. If you can attach a picture, I can ID the year for you.
